the          importance of place in screen narratives

gaf 3.jpg

About the project...

When we participate in the act of watching a screen story, is where the story situated important? What position do settings and locations play in the way we watch and understand a movie? Most screen stories are set somewhere but how conscious are we of their role in providing for a meaningful screen experience? In what way could the treatment and representation of those settings or locations by the story tellers, affect our viewing experience and furthermore how dependent is the narrative on where it is set?

"When you travel a lot, and when you love to just wander around and get lost, you can end up in the strangest spots."
